The AguaSeal Roofing System
About The AguaSeal System
The AguaSeal System is a highly durable, immensely strong, fluid applied, cementitious, acrylic elastomeric compound reinforced with non-woven polyester fabric that is suitable for use over virtually every roof substrate, either newly constructed or old and worn out.
The AguaSeal System consists of two products: AguaBase, as the waterproofing medium applied over a new or existing, but worn out roof system, and MonoTop, which is the ‘wear’ coat that protects the waterproofing membrane from the damaging effects of wind, rain, and sun.
AguaBase is a fluid applied foundation system used for the waterproofing of lightweight and cast concrete, smooth and granulated modified bitumen, smooth built up roof (BUR), and other flat and low slope roofing substrates. AguaBase provides enhanced ponding water resistance over and above the industry standard 72 hours while withstanding algae growth and bird attack.
AguaBase is an acrylic elastomeric compound, which when mixed with 24 lbs of Agua-Seal Pre-Mix Cement Powder produces an immensely strong and moderately elastic watertight foundation base with fast drying and quick-curing benefits.
AguaPlus, the trowel-grade version of AguaBase, is a strong, durable, and moderately flexible elastic compound that is the perfect solution for filling cracks, voids, birdbaths, and low depressions on various substrates. It can be utilized to repair existing delaminated roofing, and is well suited for waterproofing around roof penetrations and creating small cant strips to assist in the transition from roof to parapet walls.
AguaPlus does not need the addition of water, but should be mixed in the bucket with an increased cement powder content (33lbs). This process provides a malleable and elastic bulking medium that is both quick drying and quick curing.
Finish With MonoTop
MonoTop is a highly flexible, water-based, acrylic elastomeric compound that is applied as a wear coat over either of Agua Seal Waterproofing Systems’ foundation coatings: AguaBase or MonoBase.
MonoTop exhibits ultra violet and infrared resistance qualities, which in turn, provides significant roof-cooling properties, all while protecting the roof substrate against the damaging effects of sun, wind, salt air, and rain.
An application of MonoTop effectively changes the roof substrate from a radiant to ambient temperature, ultimately providing a more energy-efficient interior to the building.
Unlike traditional roofing systems, MonoTop wears from the top down, effectively losing one mm of millage per year. It is therefore an extremely straightforward process to rebuild millage after 10, 15, or 20 years by applying two more coats of MonoTop to the substrate, thereby qualifying for another long – term warranty.
