792 High Solid Silicone
AguaSeal’s 792HS is a 100% silicone single-part roof coating that creates a barrier that is resistant to natural weathering, is durable, breathable, watertight, and weatherproof. The 792HS can be applied directly to many different substrates including EPDM, BUR, PVC, acrylic coatings, concrete, asphalt BUR, granulated modified bitumen, and metal roofs.
APPLICATION
Clean all surfaces with AguaSeal 299SRW Roof Wash Surface and allow to dry. Ensure that the surfaces after cleaning are dry and free of dirt and debris. Due to the immense amount of carbon black present, EPDM roofs require aggressive power washing and may need to be cleaned twice to remove all surface contamination. Thoroughly rinse the roof after cleaning to remove all detergent. Primerless application is allowed on some substrates, refer to your AguaSeal Technical Representative for your project. Adhesion test results meeting the requirements of ASTM D 6694 are required for primerless applications. Primers may also be required for “bleed blocking” of Asphalt BUR, granulated modified bitumen, and smooth modified bitumen roofs. 792HS is not recommended on aluminum-coated roofs. 792HS may be applied to aged PVC, TPO, or Hypalon with AguaGrip Primer. On metal substrates where rust is present, after removing all loose material, Panel Seal Metal Primer should be applied to the rusty area prior to application of 792HS. All penetrations, drains, flashings, ponding water areas, terminations, curbs, etc., should be sealed with 1009SS Silicone Sealant and/or reinforcement.
Roof temperature should be above freezing during application. Use 792HS as it comes from the container, no thinning is necessary and mechanically mix prior to use. Apply a uniform coat of 792HS at a rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 sq. ft., coverage rates may vary. A second coat may be necessary, apply the second coat in a multi-directional fashion within 48 hours of application of the first coat for best results.
The 792HS cures through the absorption of moisture from both the substrate and the air. Avoid entraining air when mixing. Cure time will be faster in humid conditions and on substrates that hold moisture such as concrete. Open and partially full containers will skin over quickly. If this occurs, remove the skin and continue using the remaining product.
